For Open Source

Empowering Open Source
Development.

Turning unowned, unfunded, business-critical technical debt into explicit, scoped, paid work units that enterprises can sponsor and developers can execute.

Get started

For Sponsors

Fund specific work in open-source repositories you depend on.
Create bounties tied to GitHub issues, define scope and acceptance criteria, and release payment only when work is merged upstream.

Faster Resolutions

Prioritize the exact issues blocking your roadmap

Cost-Effective

Fund work per issue or PR with clear scope and outcome.

Scale Across Repos

Manage multiple bounties across teams from a single workflow.

For Contributors

Pick an issue. Submit a PR. Get paid when it merges. All issues listed are pre-funded and approved by maintainers.

Clear Scope

Every bounty includes defined requirements and acceptance criteria before you start.

Paid on Merge

Payment is released when your PR is approved and merged by the maintainer.

Work Where You Code

All work happens in the repo—issues, PRs, reviews.

For Maintainers

Enable funding on selected issues you want help with.
Contributors work against funded issues. Accepted contributions bring committed funding into the project.

Help Where It Matters

Funded issues signal priority and attract contributors to the work that matters.

Funding on Acceptance

When contributions meet your bar, committed funding is released to the project.

No Workflow Changes

Issues, pull requests, and reviews stay in GitHub. CodeBounty only adds funding—not process.

Frequently asked questions

Can’t find the answer here? Contact our support team.

How do we ensure that the issues we fund are resolved quickly and with high quality?

We leverage AI to review your specific issue, and connect with the top contributors so that your situation can be resolved quickly.

How do we allocate funding to specific issues?

You can directly sponsor issues in projects you rely on or contribute to a general fund that CodeBounty distributes based on priority needs.

Why should my company fund open-source bounties?

If your business depends on open-source software, funding bounties ensures critical bug fixes, security patches, and feature improvements while supporting the community.

When do I get paid?

Once your solution is submitted and approved by the maintainer, the bounty reward is released. Payments are processed securely through our escrow platform.

How do I claim a bounty?

Developers can browse available bounties, select an issue, and submit their interest. If multiple contributors apply, the project maintainer may assign the bounty based on skills and experience.

Who decides which developer works on my bounty?

You have control over selecting contributors, or you can allow the first qualified developer to claim it.

What if the submitted solution doesn’t meet my standards?

You can request revisions and provide feedback. If the issue remains unresolved after multiple attempts, the bounty can be reassigned.
